Welcome to the Topic Group Education and Training
Education Topic Group emphasizes the pivotal role of robotics in shaping future education landscapes, establishes directions for educating the public about robotics and automation and provides examples of good practice in teaching robotics in different environments. As such, the group is actively involved in organizing events during the Eruopean Robotics Week all over Europe, highlighting hands-on learning experiences that foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The goal of the Topic Group Education is to underline the importance of preparing not only students, but also the public at large, for a technologically advanced workforce, emphasizing robotics as a key driver of transformation and societal progress.
The objectives of the group are:
To promote robotics education across all levels and to advocate for the integration of robotics into educational systems at all levels, from primary schools to higher education. This includes developing accessible and adaptable curricula that introduce robotics concepts to a broad audience. Aim to cultivate a general interest in robotics among students and the public, highlighting its relevance to daily life and future job markets. Encourage lifelong learning and curiosity about emerging technologies.
To build community engagement and awareness by launching initiatives that raise awareness and understanding of robotics among the general public. Organize community events, workshops, and competitions that invite participation from a wide demographic, including students, educators, and families. Such events should aim to demystify robotics, showcasing its potential to solve real-world problems and its impact on society. Foster a community that supports and celebrates innovation in robotics.
To work towards making robotics learning resources more widely available to schools, educators, and the public. This involves not only the provision of hardware and software but also the creation of open educational resources and online platforms that allow self-guided learning. Strive for partnerships with industry, government, and non-profit organizations to support this accessibility. The goal is to ensure that anyone interested in robotics has the opportunity to explore and engage with the field, regardless of their background or resources.
